PENNSYLVANIA, USA — With Halloween just around the corner, the Pennsylvania Game Commission wants outdoor decorations to be just as safe as they are scary.
On Facebook, the agency reminded Pa. residents to be considerate when decorating for the upcoming holiday. This consideration includes both neighbors and surrounding wildlife.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is reminding residents to refrain from washing pumpkins in chemicals to preserve them and is asking residents to use non-toxic or natural paint for the safety of animals. It also recommends recycling or composting pumpkins after Halloween.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission also asked people to not decorate with fake spiderwebs outside, as they are dangerous to smaller animals, such as birds and bats.
Included at the end of the agency's Facebook post was a link to some of its own carving stencils, which can be found here.
