LANCASTER, Pa. — Everyone can celebrate St. Patrick's Day- even cats!
Humane Pennsylvania is celebrating the special day with a reduced-fee cat adoption event, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous sponsor.
From Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, pet lovers can adopt shelter cats six months and older for just $3.17 at Humane Pennsylvania's Berks and Lancaster County adoption centers.
“Year after year, the St. Catty’s Day adoption weekend has always brought some extra luck to the cats in our care who have been patiently waiting to find their forever families," said Humane Pennsylvania Shelter Manager Aida May. "We’re always very excited to help potential adopters find their perfect match!”
Adopters wishing to provide a loving home for shelter animals during the event are encouraged to visit the shelter campuses or HumanePA.org. All potential adopters are required to go through Humane Pennsylvania's adoption screen process where approval is not guaranteed.
Adoptions include the following:
· Humane Pennsylvania’s 30-day Adoption Health Supplement
· Spaying or neutering (before adoption)
· Vaccinations (including current rabies vaccination) and de-worming medication
· Flea treatment
· Microchipping and chip registration
· Free 1 lb. bag of Science Diet pet food
Humane Pennsylvania's Lancaster Center for Animal Life-Saving is located at 2195 Lincoln Highway E. and offers adoption hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
