YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The York County SPCA is desperately looking for people to apply for or foster dogs. The no-kill shelter recently announced that its kennels are full.
Officials with the Manchester Township shelter say the uptick in surrenders is due to breed restrictions in housing and the overall cost of having a dog.
SPCA leaders are putting out a plea to anyone who's truly ready to make the commitment to fostering or adopting.
"We know it's going to be an insane year for stray intake, so we need everyone that can [foster] for a weekend, even for a day, please apply. If you are in the position to adopt an animal, please check us out first,"
The shelter hosts open hours for the public to visit Tuesdays through Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
