PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia sports fans will get some extra Phillies content this fall to add to the already palpable Red October excitement.
In a post on X, MLB announced the upcoming release of "The Turnaround," a short film about the 2023 standing ovation for Phillies shortstop, Trea Turner.
During his first year as a Philly, Turner faced criticism from fans after suffering a slump. However, his season miraculously changed after a fan called for a stadium-wide standing ovation for Turner at Citizen's Bank Park during an at-bat against the Kansas City Royals in August 2023.
The film will be directed by Kyle Thrash and Ben Proudfoot and produced in association with the MLB. The film is expected to debut on Oct. 18.
