LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a resurfacing project on Route 23 in New Holland Borough and Earl and East Earl townships.
Contracted by Allan Meyers, LP, of Worcester, PA, this 3.6-mile, $2.6 million project is expected to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 25. It will require the closure of the intersection of Route 23 and Ranck Church Road between 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, and 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30. There will be a detour using Route 322, East Earl Road and Ranck Road.
The overall project will involve full-width milling, drainage replacement, base repair, guide rail updates, ADA curb ramp construction, line painting, sign updates and more on Route 23 between Kizner Avenue in New Holland Borough and Cedar Creek in East Earl Township.
Drainage issues have previously caused this project to be delayed, and these issues will be resolved by spring 2025.
