YORK, Pa. — Welcome to the next month of the FOX43 Book Club!

We are partnering with local libraries to create a Book Club featuring authors from Pennsylvania, highlighting the stories of our surrounding communities.

September's pick is "Caledonia” by Lititz author Sherry V. Ostroff, the first book in a time-bending duo.

"Caledonia" follows 17th-century Anna and modern-day Hanna as their stories intertwine and overlap. When Hanna's father dies on 9/11, it starts a chain of events that eventually lead to her uncovering a link between herself and Anna, a 15-year-old who fled a badly arranged marriage in 17th-century Scotland and helped establish the country's only colony, Caledonia. Hanna and Anna's story continues in sequel "Mannahatta."

Ostroff is a former teacher and current author who is based in Lancaster County. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. Ostroff has written five novels.

Those who are interested in reading along with the Book Club can find the book at online retailers or at libraries in the surrounding area. A catalog search found a copy at York, Lancaster, Cumberland and Perry county libraries. Readers can also ask their preferred library to request the book from Access PA, a statewide library resource-sharing network.

If "Caledonia" doesn't get your fingers itching to turn pages, check out the links below for past FOX43 Book Club picks written by local authors.
