Eagles raise over $3 million for charities with 'A Philly Special Christmas Special' album

The Birds more than doubled the amount of money they raised compared to last year's Christmas album.

PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles had an exciting holiday season, celebrating with the release of their second studio album last November.

Yesterday, they announced that "A Philly Special Christmas Special" raised over $3 million for about 70 nonprofit organizations in and around Philadelphia.

Every musician involved nominated a nonprofit that was important to them, the Birds said on Instagram.

Organizations include Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Children Alliance, the Philly Goat Project and the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, as well as groups that address education, child care, hunger, autism, health and medicine.

The proceeds from this year's album more than doubled last year's donations, which raised $1.25 million for local charities.
