Help kids ring in the New Year with these crafts | Family First

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — Instead of a late-night ball drop, New Year's Eve celebrations can look a little different for families with young children.

Renee Patrone Rhinehart from Party Host Helpers shares some crafts you can do with the kids to help ring in the New Year.

Noon celebration

Don't keep the kids up until midnight. Create your own 12 noon celebration/countdown with a piñata in place of a ball drop. You can fill it with candy or small prizes for the kids as a fun activity together.

Vision board

Grab a poster board and your old magazines and spend time as a family creating a vision board of what you hope to do together in the upcoming year. Cut pictures of vacations, activities and goals so you can manifest good things for the next year.

Time capsule

Create your own time capsule box by filling it with commemorative items and photos of events and things that were significant that year. Decorate the box together as a family and plan to open it in five years to reflect back on core memories.
