Cabalar Meat Co. | A butcher-turned-burger joint

This burger joint gets its meat fresh from the butcher--because it is the butcher. Cabalar Meat Co. serves up both cooked sandwiches and meat to take home and eat.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Cabalar Meat Co. serves burgers fresh from the butcher.

That's because they are the butcher.

The Lancaster eatery serves up both cooked sandwiches and meat to take home to prepare and eat. It focuses on local connections, making most of its toppings in house and sourcing its buns from a Lancaster bakery.

"I have a whole team behind me," Steven Cabalar, owner, said. "I'm one person, so I think anybody's success in business is always surround yourself by a quality team that can complement and assist you in what you're doing."

The restaurant has been open for six years, but recently it has seen an uptick in love on social media. The restaurant itself is growing too, with plans to move to a new location soon. The new shop will offer more space--going from 2,000 square feet to 8,500--for seating and parking.

Cabalar Meat Co. can also be seen rolling around central Pennsylvania in a food truck.

Those interested can follow along with Cabalar's creations on Facebook and Instagram.

The restaurant is currently located at 325 N. Queen St., but it is moving soon to 301 W. Lemon St., both in Lancaster. Cabalar hopes to complete the move in the next month.

The eatery is open from 11 a.m. - 8 a.m. on Thursday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and closed Monday - Wednesday.
