CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Scoop-a-Palooza, Chambersburg's 15th annual ice cream festival, will return on July 13, the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation said in a press release Monday.
The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the cafeteria of Chambersburg High School, located at 511 South Sixth St.
A favorite of all ages, the indoor event is a chance to take a break from the summer heat and offers all-you-can-eat ice cream and icy treats to attendees.
Six area ice cream vendors will be on hand, including The Igloo, Half-Pint Creamery, The Meadows Original Frozen Custard, Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, Scoop on the Square, and Spartan Ice Cream Center. Each vendor will offer traditional and unique ice cream flavors. Attendees can vote for their favorites.
Advance tickets are available through July 11 at Scoopalooza.com. Tickets cost $6 for adults and $4 for kids age 2-12. Kids under 2 get in for free.
"Scoop-a-Palooza will bring family and friends together for some of the best ice cream our area has to offer," said Virginia Harriger, director of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation. "We love hosting this festival that supports the Foundation's educational programming in our county, and we are excited to be celebrating 15 years of support from the sponsors, ice cream vendors, volunteers, and community members."
Scoop-a-Palooza is part of Chamberfest, a weeklong festival celebrating all things Chambersburg.
Chamberfest will be held from July 13-20 in the Franklin County borough. For more information about the upcoming event, go here.
