LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Gracie's on West Main will have you bringing home the bacon--in a takeout container, that is.
The eatery is known for serving diner food with a twist, notably its more than six different types of bacon.
"We try to source as much local as possible," Gracie Volker, owner, said. "So we use local butchers for all of our bacon in Lancaster County."
Some of the restaurant's types of bacon include traditional double smoked, caramelized, sweet garlic chili, bacon jam and two types of Irish bacon: traditional and black pepper Worcestershire.
"This is something you can do with pretty much any kind of bacon," Jim Lorah, owner, said about the black pepper Worcestershire variety. "It's a really simple marinade, leave it in for a couple hours, and it just adds almost a steakhouse kind of feel to bacon."
The bacon is served with both breakfast and lunch dishes. Three of the bacon flavors are the star of the show on the Triple Bacon BLT.
"It's over half a pound of bacon," Volker said. "It's delicious. It's quite honestly the perfect BLT."
"I always say that when somebody orders one of these and we ask, 'hey, how was it?' and they don't tell me it was the best BLT they ever had, I usually ask, 'what did we do wrong?'" Lorah said.
Those who want to hear the sizzle over and over again can keep up with the restaurant on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
