Greer's Burger Garage discusses plans for new Hanover location

Greer's Burger Garage is gearing up to raise the doors on a new location in Hanover.

HANOVER, Pa. — Those in Hanover needing a fix to their hunger will soon have another option.

Greer's Burger Garage is expanding into the York County town, planning to raise the doors on a new location in March.

"We started [the first] restaurant on a whim," Ethan Greer, chef/owner of Greer's Burger Garage, said. "We decided to just try burgers, and it's worked out to be really successful and answer a need in York County, you know, we need more mom and pop shops that sell more classic American food, so this is the market we've entered."

The burger joint puts its own twist on those classic dishes synonymous with the states.

"We wanted to respect the other locations that have been there—for some hundreds of years, some 30-plus years—and we wanted to kind of stay in our own lane, so we spent a lot of time looking at different dogs across the United States that we could bring something new to York County, and we landed on the Chicago dog," Greer said.

"It's flavorful, it's sexy—you know, a lot of different colors."

And the new eatery will do more than fill bellies—it will also fill the wallets of a lucky few in the area. The Burger Garage is hiring employees to run its new location.

The new burger joint will be located at 108 E. Chestnut St. in Hanover. The grand opening will be March 28.
