LANCASTER, Pa. — After two snow storms in one week, you might be looking for activities to do with the kids at home.
Have you tried snow cream? It's a DIY take on ice cream that's easy to do!
There are numerous methods to make snow cream, but this one is one of the simplest.
Here's what you need:
- Fresh snow
- Sweetened condensed milk
- Vanilla
- Any extra toppings (sprinkles, chocolate syrup... the options are endless!)
The quantities of each ingredient vary depending on the type of snow. I like to start with 6-8 cups of snow and half of a can of sweetened condensed milk. Add a dash of vanilla and start mixing! You'll want to keep mixing until you reach an ice cream consistency.
I would suggest tasting as you go and adding in extra snow or or milk depending on what you like!
Once you've got your snow cream perfected, add your toppings, and you're good to go!
It can be an easy, sweet treat after a long day of sledding and snowball fights.
