HANOVER, Pa. — While the fried, sweet goodness of donuts could be celebrated every day, tomorrow is dedicated to it.
Friday marks National Donut Day, and Decked Out Donuts is pulling out all the stops.
When asked how many donuts they make a day...
"A lot," owner Amy R. Lovisone laughed.
Piled high with frosting and decorations, these are the best-dressed donuts in town. Some of their previous creations include strawberry shortcake muffins, donuts for dogs and Girl Scout cookie-inspired coffees with accompanying flavors of donut.
Each batch of donuts takes about three hours to make, not including the time it takes to ice them.
"Every single one is made by hand, piped by hand, decorated by hand," Lovisone said.
Decked Out Donuts is located at 1185 High Street in Hanover. It is is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. - noon. The shop closes each day when the donuts are sold out, regardless of whether it has reached closing time.
