LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A Lancaster County-based food truck is gearing up for National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day—a fitting holiday to celebrate, as fried chicken is their specialty.
Skip's Food Truck says everything on their menu—from salad to fries—involves their famous fried chicken. The owners only serve house-made slaw and sauces and get their bread from a local bakery.
"All of our chicken is also locally sourced, hand-tenderized, hand-breaded," Katherine Stoltzfus, co-owner, said. "Nothing is from the freezer; everything is fresh, local ingredients."
The food truck serves something for all tastes, with sandwiches ranging in spiciness from no heat to ghost heat. The owners say the medium sandwich is their most popular.
Skip's Food Truck can often be found in the New Holland area. Those looking to snag a stacked sandwich can check the business's Instagram account for its location.
"Our goal has always been big portions... the goal is really just to be like, 'holy cow this is a lot of chicken,'" Marcus Stoltzfus, co-owner, said.
Anyone interested in bringing Skip's Food Truck to a private event can find booking information on their website. Those trying to track down a Skip's sandwich can find events the food truck will be at on Instagram or visit two brick-and-mortar locations that serve the food. Skip's full menu can be found at 557B Durham Rd. in Wrightstown, and the sandwiches are served Thursday - Saturday at Fireside Café at 158 Toddy Drive in East Earl.
