YORK, Pa. — As if you needed another reason to enjoy a coffee on a fall weekend morning, this Sunday will mark National Coffee Day.
Restless Coffee Co. is helping guests celebrate with a variety of dreamy fall-themed drinks.
"We all make a drink and we'll bring it back to the kitchen like, 'everybody, you have to try this right now. What needs changed? How can we make it better?'" Hope Dougherty, barista, said. "It's just a lot of fun."
Two autumn staples are the Pumpkin Spice Chai and Caramel Apple Cold Brew. The baristas say Restless' Pumpkin Spice Latte is another fall favorite for customers.
The Caramel Apple Cold Brew is made by frothing apple butter with cold foam before pouring it over the caramel latte and topping everything off with more apple butter and apple crumbles.
"My coworker Lilli and I actually came up with the Apple Butter Cold Foam," Kate Durgin, barista, said. "We really love our chais, and we were like, 'wouldn't it be amazing if we put some apple butter in the cold foam?'"
The Pumpkin Spice Chai is also made by frothing cold foam with pumpkin before pouring it over a latte that is half house-made chai, half milk and adding a sprinkle of pumpkin spice on top.
"I don't love strong coffee, so the Pumpkin Chai is my absolute favorite," Dougherty said.
