YORK, Pa. — At this point in the year, pumpkin spice has been well ingrained into autumn palates.
Those who are looking for a taste of fall in something other than popular pumpkin spice coffees need look no further than STACKS at Hershey Lodge.
Today marks National Pumpkin Spice Day, which makes it the perfect time to "Build Your Own STACKS" at the restaurant, which allows you to choose the toppings to create your perfect breakfast dish.
"The idea is the smokestacks from Hershey are so iconic, we're gonna make iconic stacks on top of our breakfast items," Ben Hager, Chef De Cuisine of STACKS at Hershey Lodge, said.
Pumpkin Spice Cannoli French Toast is a popular choice at the restaurant.
"I personally love, love, love cannoli," Hager said. "And we have a lot of opportunities at STACKS to create toppers for our menus, so I thought, 'you know what, why not enjoy a cannoli on a waffle or a pancake or some French toast,' which is my favorite medium at STACKS."
He says nostalgia makes the pumpkin spice flavor so enticing.
"We only really see it once a year right around this time, so you know it's a great opportunity to showcase those wonderful flavors like pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger," Hager said.
Those who want to learn how to make the delicious food instead of staring at it through a screen can apply for a number of culinary careers at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.
"It's a fantastic place to start your career, or mid-career, or end your career," Hager said.
