HARRISBURG, Pa. — Harrisburg is the best city to retire in, according to a new report released by U.S. News and World.
Pennsylvania's capitol city earned the title due to its easy accessibility and close attractions, such as Hersheypark and Gettysburg. The location is also reportedly perfect for big-city weekend getaways, located just a couple hours away from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C.
Harrisburg has a more affordable housing market and a lower cost of living than many East Coast metro areas, according to U.S. News and World.
Music and art lovers are also treated with plenty of concerts, museums and coffeeshops in the area.
According to the rankings, cities in Pennsylvania are overall the top five best places to retire. Just behind Harrisburg ranks Reading, Lancaster, Scranton and Allentown, rounding out the list's top five.
New York City, NY., York, Pa., Daytona Beach, Fl., Youngstown, Oh., and Pittsburgh fill out the top ten.
Harrisburg also carved a spot into the overall best places to live list, ranking 38th. According to the overall rankings, Green Bay, Wisconsin is the best overall spot to live in the United States.
