First responders across 75 organizations 'Light Up the Night' for patients at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center

More than 100 vehicles representing over 75 organizations filled the night sky with flashing lights for patients at Penn State Health Children's Hospital.

HERSHEY, Pa. — More than 100 vehicles representing over 75 organizations filled the night sky with flashing lights for patients and families at Penn State Health Children's Hospital. 

The "Light Up the Night" event on Tuesday, March 12, included dozens of law enforcement, EMS and fire agencies across central Pennsylvania, as well as several towing companies, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania State Police, Penn State Health Life Lion and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. 

This is the event's third year, organized by local and regional agencies. 

After the event, participants teamed up to provide giveaways for young patients, including flashlights and coloring books.
