CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A retired Vietnam veteran in Cumberland County received a big gift this Veteran's Day.
Retired U.S. Air Force Major James Baker received a brand new safety-enhanced shower today. The installation was part of West Shore Home's "West Shore for Warriors" Initiative.
Major Baker was diagnosed with health issues from Agent Orange in Vietnam. Those involved with the project say that adding something to help protect a veteran is a small part of helping protect the people who protected the U.S.
"It really makes you feel good to come out here and see what these men and women have done for our country and to give back to [veterans] because they have done so much for our country," Kristen Page with West Shore Home. z
Today was also Major Baker's 89th birthday so staff members with West Shore Home also brought him a cake to celebrate.
