HERSHEY, Pa. — The Hershey Bears put down the sticks and picked up the markers today.
Members of the team visited the Penn State Health Children's Hospital to visit young patients and play games.
"It is a very easy thing for us to do and they are going through a very tough time right now," said Bears defenseman Jake Massie. "If we can brighten their day a little bit, even just by playing a little game, that's what we love to do. It puts a smile on our face and theirs too."
The Bears competed in a virtual game of Pictionary with the patients and Child Life team at the hospital. The children made sure to give the Bears their best shot in the process.
"They are competitive but they are also very good artists," said Childlife assistant Jennifer Shearn "We love to play Pictionary with them because we know we can joke around and have fun with them and it's all in good fun."
Following the game, Bears players visited the rooms of some of the kids, hoping to brighten their day with some positivity.
"We really enjoy it, we have a great time being here," said Massie. "I know they enjoy it too."
This was the Bears' fourth visit to the hospital so far this season.
