PENNSYLVANIA, USA — For many, Labor Day signifies the end of summer. To mark this upcoming change of season, counties across Central Pennsylvania are hosting a wide array of events this weekend that people can get excited about.
Dauphin County
The 108th annual Kipona festival will be held along Riverfront Park and City Island in Harrisburg between Saturday, Aug. 31, and Monday, Sept. 2. The festival is free and will include live music, a Multicultural Celebration, a Native American Pow-Wow, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, a Giant Puppet Parade and more.
Middletown Car Cruise and Fireworks Display
Middletown's Labor Day celebration on Sunday, Sept. 1 will begin with its Car Cruise from 6-8 p.m. It is open to all car makes, models and years. Motorcycles are also welcome, and a Mayor's Choice Award will be provided for the best vehicle. Harry Lorenzo DJ Services will provide music throughout the event, and there will be food provided from food trucks, Middletown Booster Club and Middletown Cheerleaders.
A fireworks display will follow the Car Cruise, beginning at approximately 8 p.m.

Swatara Labor Day Fireworks
Swatara Township will host its fireworks display at Bishop Park on Saturday, Aug. 31. The event begins with food trucks and live music from 4-8:45 p.m., with the fireworks beginning at 9 p.m.

Lancaster County
Long's Park Art Festival
Long's Park Amphitheater will be hosting around 200 artists from 25 states for "a beautiful outdoor gallery filled with 'artful memories' for everyone." The 46th annual fest begins on Friday, Aug. 30 and ends on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Cost: $15 for one day; $25 for the weekend; free day pass for those under 21

Hempfield recCenter Labor Day Flea Market
This event will take place at Amos Herr Park in Landisville from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. Any interested vendors are encouraged to click here to register.
York County
Dover Fireman's Fair 2024
Hosted at Union Fore & Hose Co. #1 from Thursday, Aug. 29, to Monday, Sept. 2, fairgoers can enjoy food, rides, games and live music.

City of York Labor Day Festival
York will host this festival at Kiwanis Lake from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2. This festival will include vendors, live music and fireworks.

Hanover Chili Cook-Off
Hosted by the Exchange Club of Hanover, this event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be chili tastings, cornhole, food and drinks, a dunk tank, live music from three different bands and more.
Attendees can buy a VIP ticket for gate parking or ride one of the two free Chili Bus Shuttles between 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
