LANCASTER, Pa. — Editor's note: The above video is from Nov. 28, 2022.
As the holidays approach, Santa is beginning his journey to malls around the country, and a horned half-man, half-goat creature makes his home in the Lancaster Cemetery.
The Krampus, a beast that originated in Austria's Alpine region to scare children who have misbehaved during the Christmas season, has agreed to pose for holiday photos at the cemetery from noon - 3 p.m. on Nov. 25.
Organizers say those interested should bring their own camera, and volunteers will be on-site to assist with taking photos. A $10 donation is suggested; proceeds will go towards maintaining the historic Victorian cemetery.
Photos are first-come, first-served, and the setup may be indoors.
For the past two years, the Lancaster Cemetery also offered "Letters from Krampus," where participants could send a letter (in good fun) to an annoying coworker, grouchy nephew or nagging mother-in-law from Krampus to remind them Santa isn't the only one watching this holiday season.
