Camp Hill Police Department delivering letters to Santa before Christmas

Camp Hill Police Department is delivering letters to Santa for the first time.

CAMP HILL, Pa. — Christmas is just around the corner and the Camp Hill Police Department is taking on a new responsibility and that's making sure your letters get delivered to Santa at the North Pole.

This is the initiative's first year. Officers say the goal is to bring a little extra joy to the community and give families an opportunity to spend quality time together.

Camp Hill PD also says it encourages kids to express their creativity, practice their writing skills, and build connections with the community.

“We think that’s an important responsibility of ours to build bridges with the community that helps people get involved with community engagement and if this helps break down barriers or helps form some bonds with kids locally that’s beneficial to all of us,” said Chief Steve Margeson, Camp Hill Police Department.

Right now, kids of all ages can write letters to Santa and drop them off inside a mailbox in the lobby of the police station.

You can bring your letter Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and don't forget to include a return envelope with your name and address, so Santa can write back!

The deadline to drop your letters off is Friday, Dec. 20.
