It's National Pi Day! Bakeries take part in the fun

National Pi Day isn't just for math lovers. Many local bakeries are getting into the celebration with pies of their own.

LANCASTER, Pa. — Thursday is National Pi Day.

The holiday is celebrated every year on March 14 because it corresponds with the first three digits of the mathematic constant, Pi: 3.14.

But people can celebrate even if math isn't their strength.

Many local bakeries are getting into the celebration with "pi's" of their own.

Lancaster Pie and Coffee in downtown Lancaster is not only celebrating National Pi Day, but also their one-year anniversary.

On Thursday, if people purchase any of their pies, they can be entered for a chance to win a free pie.
