YORK, Pa. — This week’s Furry Friend is Anna, brought to us by Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue. Anna is estimated to be a 5-month-old lab mix and is currently fostered in York County by the Welty family.
Ryan Welty says that Anna is a go with the flow kind of puppy who has seamlessly made the transition into their home.
“She’s meshed with our dogs. We also have her brother. So, they’ve all adjusted pretty well to our home," he says.
Ryan’s daughter Emma has enjoyed having the new company at home.
“She’s really chill. She likes to snuggle a lot," Emma told FOX43. "And she plays with her brother a lot, so that's fun. And she gets along with our dogs really well too.”
The Weltys have fostered numerous dogs in the past and say this puppy is one of the calmer ones they’ve had.
“Most of the fosters are really loud and they bark a lot and they have a lot of energy; she’s more chill and she doesn’t bark a lot," said Emma.
Anna is already working on her training with the Weltys. She’s mostly housebroken, can sit, and is working on shake. She loves to play with her sibling and foster siblings. Especially this time of the year, they enjoy ice cream treats and splashing in the water.
Having a dog at home is the perfect companion, especially now that school is out.
“Having a dog is so much fun and, like, you can never be bored because there’s always a dog to play with," said Emma. "You can teach them tricks and you can go outside and play with them and stuff. It’s really fun.”
Given Anna’s calm demeanor and friendly nature with other people and pets, she’ll fit into almost any family. Emma says a family with kids would be great so that this puppy can run around the backyard with them.
Whether this pup is running around out back or relaxing in the shade, she is sure to make a great addition to any home.
