NEW FREEDOM, Pa. — This week's Furry Friend is Beauty, brought to us by Animal Rescue Inc. in New Freedom, York County.
Beauty is a 4-year-old calico with green eyes and soft fur. This calico has green eyes and soft fur. She's looking for a family where she can be the perfect companion to cuddle up with on the couch.
“She’s a real lap cat. She loves to be brushed and played with. She’s just a real love bug," says Phil Staelens, Director of the rescue.
Beauty has been at the shelter for a few months now. Staelens says she will be a great family addition to a low energy family.
“Right now I would say she’s between 4 and 5. That to me, for someone like myself, that’s an ideal cat. Likes to sit on the couch and watch TV with you. A real sweet cat," he says.
Beauty does well with dogs, but will need to be the only cat in her home.
Staelens says a more mature family will probably be best for Beauty.
“Maybe someone in their 30s or 40s that’s at home and can spend a lot of time with the cat," he tells FOX43. "I don’t think she’ll be the ideal cat for a very young family. She’s a little bit playful but not overly playful.”
Beauty loves treats, though she might need to cut back on them some. She also loves to help out in the kitchen and drink water from the faucet while you use it.
