HARRISBURG, Pa. — This week’s Furry Friend is Dakota, brought to us by Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue.
She recently traveled to Pennsylvania in hopes of finding her forever home. She’s a beautiful white dog with floppy ears and a big personality to match according to her foster parent, Ryan Lucas.
“Dakota is a mix of a husky and an Australian shepherd," he tells FOX43. "But I like to say she’s 100% good girl and she’s just so much fun.”
Ryan has been fostering Dakota for the past couple of weeks. He says she’s been a fun and energetic addition to their home.
“I would say she’s a mix between sassy and a mix between very excitable. Like loves to be loved, loves to be playing, loves to wake us up in the morning at all hours. So she definitely has a bit of an attitude I would say. But she’s very much her own dog and she’s a big time love bug too," he says.
Dakota loves to play with squeaky toys or with her foster sibling. She would do great in a home with other pets.
“She loves other dogs, all sizes, all shapes, all colors, everything. And definitely someone who would love to take her out and let her be herself outside and enjoy the sun and really adventure in her own way. And with a fenced in yard too so she can grow by herself too," says Ryan.
Dakota does well with kids and likes to make friends with everyone she meets.
Ryan and his family are working on training Dakota and working on commands like sit. They're also working on house training with her and having great success so far!
Dakota will be a great dog for almost any family. If you're interested in adopting her, just fill out an application on Charlie's Crusaders Pet Rescue's website.
