YORK, Pa. — Welcome to the next month of the FOX43 Book Club!

We are partnering with local libraries to create a Book Club featuring authors from Pennsylvania, highlighting the stories of our surrounding communities.

August's pick is "To the One I Love” by Avery Volz, the first book in a romance duo that is perfect for a summer beach read!

"To the One I Love" is a young adult romance about two childhood best friends who fall in love and navigate going from friends to more. Until one summer day changes everything, and suddenly Gail Ferr and Colton Reeves must remember who they are apart from each other once again. Gail never truly forgets Colton, despite her newfound success and inner strength—but it may turn out that she doesn't have to.

Volz fell in love with storytelling before she could even talk. Her father, an English teacher, fostered her love for literature from a young age. Volz is a student at Penn State York. She finished her first draft of "To the One I Love" when she was just 17. Its sequel, "To Now And Forever," was part of the original draft before her editor suggested breaking the story into two parts.

Those who are interested in reading along with the Book Club can find the book at online retailers or at libraries in the surrounding area. A catalog search found a copy at York County Libraries. Readers can also ask their preferred library to request the book from Access PA, a statewide library resource-sharing network.

If "To the One I Love" doesn't get your fingers itching to turn pages, check out the links below for past FOX43 Book Club picks written by local authors.
