York community Christmas tree comes to Continental Square

The City of York's community Christmas Tree will make its way from Dover to Continental Square in downtown York.

YORK, Pa. — The City of York's community Christmas Tree will make its way from Dover to Continental Square in downtown York today.

The annual tradition of picking the tree from a local family, cutting it down and transporting it to the city continues for another year. This year, the tree was donated by Scott and Debbie Young of Dover.

With the help of Kinsley Construction and the York City Electrical Bureau, the tree will be cut down and taken to Continental Square. The tree is expected to leave at 8:45 a.m. and arrive in York at 9:15 a.m. To follow the progress of the tree live, click here.

The tree will be decorated in preparation for the annual Light Up York ceremony sponsored by WellSpan Health. Light Up York will be held on Continental Square on Friday, Dec. 1. For more information on Light Up York, click here.
