York County ice cream shop holds week-long fundraiser in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Candy Mountain Creamery in York County is raising money to help those battling pediatric cancer.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Candy Mountain Creamery in York County is scooping up hope for a sweet cause! 

Tuesday's Scoops for Hope Event began a fundraiser that will continue throughout the week to help those battling pediatric cancer. 

Guests can try the creamery's new Golden Hope Cookies 'n Cream ice cream cone made special for just this week. 15% of all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Organizers say just a small scoop can make a big difference. 

"Everybody has their own little issues and things that they deal with day to day and this just helps those in need out," said Lydia Gomez, the manager of Candy Mountain Creamery. 

Candy Mountain will also be selling golden ribbons throughout the week that guests can add to their Wall of Hope. Raffle prizes will be available, one lucky customer will win a $100 gift card to the shop. 

Additionally, 15% of all sales on Wednesday, Sept. 25 will be donated to pediatric cancer research.
