YORK, Pa. — A York County ice cream shop is celebrating its new management with a unique offer: Free Ice Cream for a Year to the first 50 customers who purchase something from the store on Saturday.
Handel's Homemade Ice Cream has been serving scoops from its location at 2310 South Queen Street in York for more than 20 years. Now under the management of York resident Nathan Englar and his family, the store will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A day of family fun and activities is planned for Saturday as part of the celebration as well.
The first 50 customers to buy an item from the store as part of Saturday's promotion will receive a punch card that can be redeemed for one small dish or cone per week for 52 weeks.
“Our hope is to carry forward and expand upon the legacy of this store, and continue to serve up smiles here in York," Englar said.
Handel's Ice Cream features 48 flavors of ice cream and frozen desserts. The ice cream is made fresh daily.
Handel's menu features cones, dishes, pints, quarts, milkshakes, sundaes, "hurricanes," and more.
