PHILADELPHIA — Tyson Foods is closing two prepared food facilities in Pennsylvania, the company confirmed Tuesday.

Both facilities are located in Philadelphia. They are the Original Philly Cooked Plant, located at 4001 North American Street, and the Original Philly Raw Plant, located at 520 East Hunting Park Avenue.

There are 110 affected workers at the Cooked Plant and 119 at the Raw Plant.

Both closures go into effect on Jan. 31, 2025, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania website.

A Tyson Foods spokesperson confirmed the closings in a statement.

“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our two Prepared Foods facilities in Philadelphia to increase the efficiency of our operations," the spokesperson said. "We understand the impact the decision has on our team members and the local community. Taking care of our team members is our top priority and we encourage them to apply for other open roles within the company. We are also working closely with state and local officials to provide additional resources to those who are impacted.”
