The deadline to file your 2020 taxes is Monday.
Local experts say that's when you have to make payments — regardless of whether file for an extension. You have until Oct. 15 to file your personal income taxes, but payments must be made on Monday. Otherwise, you could face penalties.
David Riggs, president of Accounting Services of York recommends paying directly from your bank account or setting up direct deposit, which helps you get your refund faster.
"We can draft it out of their bank account when we electronically file your tax return. That's the easiest option in my option," said Riggs.
The Department of Revenue also provides myPATH which allows most taxpayers to file their Pennsylvania Income Tax Return (PA-40). This gives taxpayers access to error-reducing automatic calculators and provides instant confirmation that your return has been filed successfully.
