LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office is seeking people who are owed court-ordered restitution.

Lancaster County reportedly collected over $2.4 million in restitution last year, including payments from defendants in state prison. Here's how to collect yours:

The Clerks of Courts Office recently mailed a letter with an enclosed debit card to those owed restitution with details on how to access their payment. The image below shows an example of the debit card:

A PDF copy of the mailed letter with more details can be found here

Restitution payments are loaded onto a debit card monthly through CourtFunds. The cards are included in the letter sent by the Clerk of Courts Office and should not be thrown away.

The debit card can be used as is, used as a cash advance to remove the entire balance at any MasterCard principal financial institution or used as a debit when making transactions and when asked for cash back.

To choose a method of receiving these payments, register here or call 877-287-2448.

Registering for an account will give access to:

  • View card balance and transaction history at any time.
  • Transfer the funds to a personal bank account.
  • Transfer the funds to a PayPal account. Buy gift cards at a discounted price.
  • Donate the funds to a charity.
  • Choose to receive a paper check instead (free of charge).

The Lancaster County Clerk of Courts has also received multiple restitution payments that the USPS has returned because of an outdated address. For those who changed their address and haven't received restitution payments, contact Victim/Witness Services or the Clerk of Courts Office to update.

If neither of these applies but restitution is still owned and has not been received, The DA's Office advises calling the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness Services Unit at 717-299-8048.
