HARRISBURG, Pa. — A newly passed Senate bill could put your lottery winnings or large tax refunds into an unpaid toll bill.
Under the bill, those who collect lottery winnings or a tax return over $2,500 and have unpaid tolls will have the bill automatically deducted from the amount.
The money will be intercepted by the Department of Revenue and deducted based on the amount of the outstanding toll, followed by a notification to the recipient and the final balance distributed, according to the bill.
The bill will now head to the House Finance Committee.
