York County representative offers help to those applying for Property Tax and Rent Rebate program

Representative Klunk plans to hold another assistance event on March 5 at the New Freedom Borough Office Council Chambers.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — State lawmakers are emphasizing the expanded Property Tax and Rent Rebate program and offering people help as they fill out their applications.

Representative Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) invited constituents to a PTRR assistance event in Hanover, York County on Tuesday.

Last year, Gov. Shapiro signed a bipartisan initiative into law, making an additional 150,000 Pennsylvanians eligible for the program. The rebate program benefits eligible residents 65 years and older; widows and widowers 50 years and older; and people with disabilities 18 years and older. Paid, stamped property taxes from 2023, or a renter's certificate signed by the landlord are required to complete the application.

Representative Klunk stresses that anyone needing help with the application can reach out.

“My office, all of the state representatives and senators across this state, provide this service free of charge and it's really a resource for our seniors, those who might be widowed or disabled to give them that little extra relief that they might need in their pocketbook today," said Rep. Klunk.

Representative Klunk plans to hold another assistance event on March 5 at the New Freedom Borough Office Council Chambers. Appointments are required, and those seeking help should call Klunk's office at 717-630-8942 to reserve a timeslot.
