Retirement party held for owner of Bob's Sno Balls

Bob Houser has served his homemade treats to the York County community for nearly 60 years.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Bob Houser was honored by the community he has served for nearly 60 years.

Dandelion Thyme and The Mill of Red Lion hosted a retirement party for Bob Houser, owner of Bob's Sno Balls, on Wednesday.

Houser, of York County, began serving his homemade treats to the community in 1965 and has not stopped since. However, due to health issues, he announced his retirement in August.

Houser's retirement party was a way for people to give thanks for all he has done throughout the community. He served his desserts at the party from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., and he was extremely grateful for all who stopped by to thank him.

"People couldn’t be much nicer," Houser said. "Everyone’s coming up and shaking my hand, and it’s overwhelming. I can’t believe that for just a sno ball truck driver.”

Bob's Sno Balls will officially end its run on Saturday, Sept. 21.
