YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Give Local York, a day of philanthropy designed to support the nonprofits helping people right in your own community, will take place from May 2 to 3.
As the event draws nearer, FOX43 will highlight some of the nonprofits that will benefit from the donations.
The Christian School of York is one of those organizations.
The school teaches pre-kindergarten through 12th grade and offers scholarships to families who cannot afford the full tuition. According to its website, the school's mission is "equipping students through academic rigor and uncompromising Biblical truth to impact the world for Christ."
Donations from Give Local York will go towards transportation and parking lot updates. The school busses in children from neighboring school districts that do not provide transportation to CSY. The school says as more and more students enroll, additional transportation becomes more crucial. Administration also hopes to pave over some of the grass areas on campus to create more parking spaces for when the school hosts events.
Those who would like to support the nonprofit but can't donate are invited to explore volunteer opportunities to help out at the school.
