YORK, Pa. — Crispus Attucks York held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new History and Culture Center on Wednesday.
The organization said the center will celebrate, preserve and teach the living history and traditions of African Americans in greater York and beyond, bringing diverse communities together through the combined narratives of artistic, cultural and historical treasures in order to enhance understanding among people.
It will also be used as a meeting space for the community to gather, build relationships, strengthen bonds and learn about themselves and each other.
On Monday, Crispus Attucks York welcomed the community to celebrate the groundbreaking at 10 a.m.
Crispus Attucks York said they expect the center to be complete by March 2025.
