DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — The father of Justin Johnson and the family's attorney are expected to speak about the death of the 16-year-old today.
An autopsy report released on Tuesday from the Dauphin County coroner stated Johnson died of complications from sickle cell disease.
It's the first time the public will hear from the family since Johnson passed away last Friday.
While rumors circulated on social media regarding the circumstances of Johnson’s death and the Lower Paxton Township Police Department did start an investigation, the coroner lists the manner of death as "natural."
The coroner says Johnson died from "complications with sickle cell disease" and a heart condition.
On Friday night, the community came together to show their support.
Hundreds of people gathered at Koons Park in Linglestown for a vigil for Johnson to not only remember him, but to celebrate what would have been his 17th birthday.
Classmates from Central Dauphin School District and members of the community filled the park with flowers and pictures. People attending the the vigil also released balloons and plan to plant flowers at the park in Johnson’s memory.
