Go big at home for Valentine’s Day dates in York

Some people may want to go big or go home for Valentine’s Day. But what if you can go big at home this Valentine’s Day?

YORK, Pa. — Some people may want to go big or go home for Valentine’s Day.

But what if you can go big at home this Valentine’s Day? FOX43 visited four places in York offering excitement to couples this week for the holiday.

The Arthur Murray Dance Centers in York is offering ballroom dance classes on Valentine’s Day throughout the week. Several studios are available to new students for lessons. New students get their first lesson complimentary.

“I think it’s the perfect thing for couples to do because it’ll bring couples so much closer together,” said Julia Ried, Manager at Arthur Murray Dance Centers. She added, “Dancing is really like learning a second language but without words, you’re really using your body to relate with your partner.

There will also be a newcomer dance lesson on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in the York location for beginners to get their bodies moving with their loved ones. Pricing and schedules can be found here

The York City Ice Arena expects couples to come out and try their luck on the Ice. during their lunchtime session on Valentine’s Day from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes rental skates.

“I think ice skating is a great opportunity to bring couples closer together because it’s something fun to do where you’re learning new skills like maybe you can learn how to go backward, do a new trick, just try something new,” said Cari Bowen.

Creative York, located in downtown York, encourages couples to get their hands dirty by making pottery, painting, and bonding with their creation and partner. Creative York Art Gallery offers a number of classes and date nights

“It can be fun because making art can be a little bit vulnerable,” said Amber Wiesberg, Director of Education at Creative York. She added, “It’s all about the experience… it’s all about making a mess, having fun and being a little goofy while you do it.

Seats are limited by class size, there will be a pottery date night this Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. head here for times and pricing.
