Horses help people get back onto the 'Right Foot' | Give Local York

Right Foot Ranch offers Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies to both individuals and groups with and without special needs.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Give Local York, a day of philanthropy designed to support the nonprofits helping people right in your own community, will take place from May 2 to 3.

As the event draws nearer, FOX43 will highlight some of the nonprofits that will benefit from the donations.

Right Foot Ranch is one of those organizations.

Amanda Martinez founded the nonprofit after a lifetime of dreaming about horses. The Ranch offers Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies to both individuals and groups with and without special needs and those with physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral issues. People who just want to be better versions of themselves or work on overcoming things in their lives that most often have nothing to do with horses are also welcome.

"Our mission at Right Foot Ranch is to add smiles, hope, love and healing to the world through horses," Martinez said. "So we use our herd of rescued horses to attempt to rescue people."

The organization will host a Fiesta at the Farm for Cinco de Mayo on Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be food, music, pony rides, a unicorn kissing booth, horse photo station and more.

Donations from Give Local York will go towards building up community outreach initiatives and taking care of the administration costs of running the brand-new nonprofit that was just established in July 2023.
