STEELTON, Pa. — Steelton Borough residents are invited to come together and help beautify their community.

Local leaders are inviting residents to "Lend a Hand" by adding their handprint to the Mohn Street Park wall "as a symbol of unity and support for the borough." A section of the wall will be dedicated to honoring loved ones who have passed away.

"The wall will stand as a permanent reflection of the community’s strength and shared vision for the future," organizers said in a press release.

International Fine Artist Dionn Reneé will guide attendees in the artistic process of decorating the Mohn Street Park wall, organizers said. Special guests include Mayor Ciera Dent, the funders of the park and other community leaders.

Interested residents will also have a chance to tour the community garden and learn more about urban gardening and agriculture.

"Steelton Borough is excited to see the community come together to 'Lend a Hand' and create a brighter, more beautiful future for everyone," organizers said in a press release. "This event will not only enhance the borough’s aesthetics but also strengthen community ties and demonstrate the pride we all share in our hometown."

There will be music and entertainment at the park. Vendors and food trucks are invited to contact Steelton Borough administrators to participate in the event.

"Lend a Hand" will take place over two days, Sept. 28 and 29. On Saturday and Sunday, attendees are invited to visit Mohn Street Park, located at the intersection of South 3rd Street and Mohn Street in Steelton, between 1 - 4 p.m. to add their handprints to the wall and enjoy the festivities. Following Saturday's painting efforts, the community is invited to an afterparty at Full Circle Music, located about 10 minutes away at 2201 Woodlawn Street in Harrisburg. The afterparty is from 6 - 8 p.m.
