LANCASTER, Pa. — Two Lancaster City teenagers accused of firing handguns outside a home on the 300 block of East New Street last month will be charged as adults, the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday.

Alexander Whisman, 17, and his brother, Joshua Whisman, 16, are both charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal conspiracy, three firearms offenses, and four misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person in connection to the September 16 shooting, according to District Attorney Heather Adams. Due to the charges involving the alleged use of deadly weapons, the juvenile suspects will be charged as adults, Adams said.

According to police, Lancaster Safety Coalition camera footage showed the brothers firing handguns at two other males from the front porch of the home following an altercation at a house party. One of the bullets fired struck a home across the street, which was occupied at the time, authorities claim.

Neither brother was legally allowed to possess a firearm due to their juvenile status, Adams said.

Both brothers were taken to the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center last Thursday and are being held on $200,000 bail. They will face a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Andrew Lefever on Oct. 15. Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart will prosecute the case.
