Lancaster County man faces additional sexual assault charges after third minor victim comes forward

EAST EARL, Pa. — A Megan's Law offender in Lancaster County already accused of sexually abusing two minors is facing additional charges for the alleged abuse of a third victim, police claim in charging documents.

Christopher Zweifel, 58, of East Earl, had previously been charged in August with more than a dozen felonies in connection to the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old victim, police said. He was charged with three more felonies and a misdemeanor later that month when a second victim came forward with claims that Zweifel had touched them on multiple occasions between 2021 and 2023, according to East Earl Township Police.

Zweifel was charged with additional offenses on Oct. 3, when the father of a third victim, now 14-years-old, contacted police to report his child claimed that he had been sexually abused by Zweifel on multiple occasions during sleepovers at Zweifel's home, charging documents state.

The victim claimed the sexual abuse occurred when they were between the ages of 10 and 12-years-old, police said. The victim reported that Zweifel began sexually assaulting them while they slept on a couch in his basement, according to police.

The victim reported they had known Zweifel since they were about 8-years-old, stating he was a family friend, according to police.

Zweifel, who has been held in Lancaster County victim since his first arrest in August, is charged with felony counts of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors in relation to the third incident, according to police.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16, according to court records.
