A woman whose neighbor rescued her from her burning home last week is now being accused of intentionally setting that fire.

Police say Leslie G. Truitt, 70, admitted to putting belongings of a former resident of the home in the bathtub and setting them on fire. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal concluded that the fire was intentionally set, with the bathtub on the second floor identified as the point of origin.

Truitt and the neighbor who rescued her were burned in the fire, according to the Ephrata Police Department.

Truitt is currently hospitalized, but officers say she will be arraigned after the completion of her treatment.

She is charged with aggravated arson-bodily injury, two counts of arson-danger of death or bodily injury, arson endangering property-reckless endangerment of inhabited buildings, two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals-causing serious bodily injury or death, and four counts of cruelty to animals.
