RED LION, Pa. — A Red Lion man is facing multiple felony charges after police investigated him on suspicions of possessing child pornography, according to a criminal complaint.
The York County Regional Police Department's investigation began on Feb. 26, when it received a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children alleging that an Instagram account was being used to upload and message child pornography.
Officers determined the account was linked to Jared Blouse, 20, and executed a search warrant at his house on June 27. Investigators seized Blouse's laptop and cell phone and found them to contain over 200 files depicting child pornography, according to a criminal complaint. Police also found the email account linked to the offending Instagram profile on his phone.
Blouse allegedly confessed to police that the Instagram account that generated the tip and others were his and that he used them for child pornography.
Blouse was arrested on July 5 and awaits a preliminary hearing on July 19, according to court documents.
