1 dead after Harrisburg shooting

Police say that a man injured in a shooting around 2 a.m. on Thursday morning died at the hospital.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Update, Feb. 25: Dauphin County officials identified 38-year-old Willie Elbert Ford of Steelton as the victim of Thursday's shooting.

The coroner's office said Ford died from gunshot wounds to his body by manner of homicide.

On Friday, police arrested 44-year-old Tyron Stewart in connection to the murder.

Previous: A man injured in a shooting overnight in Harrisburg has passed away, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police announced this morning.

The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. on Feb. 22 in the 1500 block of Vernon Street, according to officials.

Police say responding officers found a wounded man and took him to a local hospital for treatment, where he later died of his injuries. His name has not been released at this time.
