Collection of 3D printed ghost guns found during domestic assault investigation

A domestic assault call turned St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office onto a massive gun collection inside Jarod Taylor's house at the 20000 block of Goddard Road.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Deputies were searching for a Maryland man Friday who illegally stored 80 guns and 1,300 rounds of ammunition inside his Lexington Park house and cars.

A domestic assault call turned St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office onto a massive gun collection inside Jared Taylor's house at the 20000 block of Goddard Road on Thursday night. However, deputies said Taylor ran away before police got there.

Deputies said that many of Taylor's guns were examples of 'ghost guns,' which are made without serial numbers, as well as machine guns and semi-automatics. Taylor apparently also owned a 3D printer and other gun-making tools.

Taylor is not allowed to have guns, according to SMCSO, because of past arrests and an arrest warrant he has for theft that existed before Thursday.

"Taylor has not been located and should be considered armed and dangerous," SMCSO said Friday night. "If you spot him, do not approach him but immediately call 911."

Taylor is described as a man with a fair complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. He stands around 5-foot-10 and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

Now, the 39-year-old faces a series of additional charges for his gun collection, including illegal possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of an assault weapon with intent to sell and failure to keep registered possession of a machine gun.
